Disney World Begins Outfitting Employees With iPads
Disney is using the iPad for its next-generation 'FastPass' system that will use RFID technology to improve the park goer experience, reports 9to5Mac.
Over the next couple weeks guests chosen in advance to their trip will be helping Disney test this new process. The guest will book popular rides and attractions for specific times in the future, even before they leave for Florida. According to @DisneyProjects, when they arrive at the ride at their reserved time they will wand their RFID band by a sensor which sends their reservation information to a nearby Cast Member's (Disney Employee) iPad.
The pilot program is set to run for a few weeks so Disney can gauge its effectiveness. No timetable for a full rollout has been provided as of yet.
