How to Jailbreak Your iPad Using Absinthe 2.0 (Mac) [5.1.1]

These are instructions on how to perform an untethered jailbreak of your iPad on iOS 5.1.1 using Absinthe for Mac.

Warning***: Before you continue make sure to do a backup of your device in iTunes as you may lose your Camera Roll during this process.

Step One
Download the latest version of Absinthe from here.

Step Two
Double click to mount the downloaded dmg and drag the Absinthe application to your desktop.


Double click to launch the Absinthe application from your desktop.


Step Three
As prompted, connect your iPad to the computer via USB. Make sure to remove any passcodes or VPN settings you've previously set.


Step Four
Click the Jailbreak button to begin


Step Five
The application will take you through several steps to jailbreak including: beginning jailbreak, sending initial jailbreak data, sending final jailbreak data, waiting for reboot, and waiting for process to complete.






Step Six
You will be informed that the jailbreak is 'Done'.


Step Seven
In a few moments you will notice Cydia appear on your Springboard!

can i use this jailbreak 511 for my ipad 3? i have ipad 3 on 6.0.1...any idea which is the best solution (which version or downgrade) for me if i need a Jailbreak iPad??

Yes, works fine for me (iPad1 64Gb 3G). It take about a hour to complete the procedure...

I did it, but cydia isn't working correctly, it crashes when I tap on it. I tried restoring the iPad but I am getting an error: "This device isn't elegibe for the requested build", I tried modifying the hosts list, but still not working… I don't know how to solve… I've read, that I can Re-restore to 5.1.1 on Dev-Team Blog (http://blog.iphone-dev.org/post/31869383801/blob-o-riffic) but I don't know how. I need help please, thanks!
