Apple Requests Injunction Against the Samsung Galaxy S III

Apple Requests Injunction Against the Samsung Galaxy S III

Posted June 6, 2012 at 9:01pm by iClarified
Apple has ask a California court to add the Samsung Galaxy S III to a motion requesting a preliminary injunction against the Galaxy Nexus, reports FOSS Patents.

Apple made this move approximately 20 hours after I wrote about the Galaxy S III being "the obvious next target". In my blog post I speculated that Apple might bring a preliminary injunction motion against it, possibly after awaiting tomorrow's preliminary injunction hearing. Apple decided to forge ahead now. Apple is on the offensive against Android. Earlier this week it filed an ITC complaint requesting an immediate import ban of 29 allegedly-infringing HTC devices. There's an important overlap: the "data tapping" patent that Apple is seeking to enforce against HTC's current generation of products is one of two patents Apple is using against the S III.

Notably, Apple notes that "[a]ccording to press reports, Samsung has already sold over nine million preorders of the Galaxy S III; indeed, the Galaxy S III has been reported to be the most extensively preordered piece of consumer electronics in history."

When APPLE copies is called INNOVATION, when other copy is INFRINGEMENT. And Steve Jobs proudly said that he is proud to have copied from everyone... Now, that someone else is doing a good product - they SUE.

Mr jobs was the one that initiated these things, I was hoping the guys that run the company now would stop pursuing the same tactics as jobs. Apparently, they've all signed a "pledge" to continue what jobs was doing, so no more hope...

You say Samsung is bad, but do not see that Apple is doing the same. They don't even pay their taxes. As for inovation, what did Apple do beside iPhone ? appleTV? oh yeah. Take a look at Samsung's portfolio.

It's not a blatant ripoff of the entire device, but you'd have to examine the complaint before you can judge how 'honest' the [ban] request is. They're arguing they're violating a specific patent, so that could be just about anything. This report makes no attempt to describe the specific complaint.

from another report that i read, its not the phone design that infringe apple patents. Its the S-Voice that apple claims infringe Apple's patents. And why are you android fans mad about apple lawsuits. Its legal and non dirty that they take it to court. They aint like Samsung who cant take it to the court but take it personal. Samsung has been advertising a lot to target apple and iphone users, most recently and notably calling iphone users sheep. Which 1 is a dirtier tactic? Especially when samsung advertised the svoice i already knew somehow there would be a lawsuit cuss it straight up resembles siri. Theres no way that its 100% unique on its own without any idea or codes of siri.

iPhone5 will be called "The NEW iPhone" and 10% of the planet will love it, 5% will buy it and the rest are either to poor or too busy to care.
