Sprint Won't Charge for Facetime Over Cellular, Verizon Believes It's Too Early

After rumors fired up over AT&T's potential charging for Facetime over cellular, Sprint has confirmed to the Wall Street Journal that it has no plans to charge for Facetime over cellular and will offer the service free for its iPhone Customers.

Meanwhile, AT&T rival Sprint Nextel Corp. (S), which still offers unlimited data to new and existing users on its network, said it has no plans to erect pricing barriers to FaceTime.
"We are committed to our unlimited data and that means not charging for data consumption based on the application," a spokeswoman said.

Verizon Wireless on the other hand will not discuss unreleased software, and called the talks "premature," similar to what AT&T said earlier today.

The timing of any pricing conversations related to future versions of iOS is premature.
Unfortunately it seems that we won't get a clear answer until iOS 6 officially releases this fall.

By to early they mean we don't want to shock you with the rediculous amount we will charge for this feature.

I am happy and thankful to be and stay with Sprint as long as Sprint stays true to their word about unlimited data for whatever application... I hope Sprint will never lower themselves to the mentality of some other providers!

Meh, ATT is way too greedy. Get StraightTalk, it's only $45/mo with unlimited everything and has the same exact coverage as ATT. Don't let those fuckers from ATT steal your money.
