Pegatron has reportedly begun production of the new iPhone at its factory in Shanghai, reports DigiTimes.

Pegatron is expected to see ODM shipments of notebooks decrease sequentially in third-quarter 2012, and orders for the new version iPhone are enough to make up for decreased revenues from the notebook segment, the sources indicated.

Pegatron also has reportedly become the second OEM maker of a new version of iPad, with shipments in the third quarter expected to reach a few million units, the sources indicated.

A recent report from BGR said that the next generation device is actually in the EVT3 stage, the third engineering verification test stage, and has not yet entered the DVT (design verification test) stage.

MMMmmmm GALAXY NOTE 2?????? or iPhone 5?????? I've had every Iphone from day 1 but last year after the iPhone 4S disappointment brought a Galaxy Note and to be honest it has been very good. But I still have a small hope the iPhone 5 might sway me back towards the fruit based company.... Although the design is $hi7 based on the above.

You had every iPhone since day 1 but expected a redesign when it was just redesigned the year prior? Apple consistently had the same general design for 2 years in a row since the release of the first. You're an idiot for thinking that last years model was going to wow you. .

So in other words..."We don't know when it's coming, or whether it is even being manufactured yet, never mind the time line of either". Roger that!
