Tapbots, developer of the popular Tweetbot Twitter client, has addressed concerns over Twitter's new API rules.

Notably, Tapbots says, "Don't Panic".

"I wanted to let everyone know that the world isn't ending, Tweetbot for Mac is coming out soon, Tweetbot for iOS isn't going anywhere."

Most of the changes are characterized as "harmless"; however, one in particular is of a some concern. That change is 'caps' on the number of users. Thankfully, for Tweetbot that cap is fairly large.

The user cap for Tweetbot for iOS is two times their number of current users (not 100k) which they estimate won't be hit for a few years. The cap for Tweetbot for Mac is also large and they don't expect any problems there. Notably, if they do reach 200% of current users they can continue to add users if Twitter gives them permission.

You can purchase Tweetbot from the App Store for $2.99. Tweetbot for Mac is coming soon.
