An interesting rumor suggests that a new four core iPhone will be released alongside the iPhone 3.0 firmware, according to ZDnet.
One of the most interesting rumors Ive been tracking here at Macworld Expo in San Francisco surrounds the mysterious four-core iPhone. While the current iPhone has (roughly) the processing power of the Sony PSP, an upgraded four core iPhone would slaughter pretty much every portable gaming platform on the market. The other part of the story is firmware 3.0, which is said to be required on the iPhone quad.

Is apple pushing the Iphone to become a game system and make bank on selling tons of games that compete with PC, WII and PS3? They better start making controllers and an external TV hookup if they go that route.

Yeah man. They must be doing that on purpose since the GPS functionality they implemented is much more complex. The next generation Iphone most likely will have all these additional functions meaning that they want us to buy a new phone every year. It's all about business.
