Check out this video that compares the boot speed of the iPhone 5 vs. iPhone 5c vs. iPhone 5s.

All three iPhones were freshly restored to iOS 7.0 with absolutely no data or accounts set up on the device.

The counter was started from the exact moment each device received USB signal and stopped as soon as the lockscreen was loaded.

I notice that the 5c and 5s dont have sim cards, the 5 does. that slows down as you can see the iphone 5 searching for signal. Maybe try it again all without simcards this test is rubbish...

Actually, none of the devices had a SIM card. We stopped the counter at the moment the lock screen was loaded. It took another second for the iPhone 5 to realize there was No SIM.

Ever since my ios 7 update my device has an extreme long problem updating the apps. It should not take 2 hours to download 4 apps. Apple is seriously losing its stabilities ....

It could be that the 5 is on ios 7.0, which both the 5c and 5s are on ios 7.0.1.

Actually, all devices are running iOS 7.0. No devices were upgraded to 7.0.1...

The iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c both shipped with 7.0. 7.0.1 was made live for the 5s and 5c only, and we did not update either of those devices to make sure all of our devices were on the same firmware. For some reason, Apple is only hosting 7.0.1 for the iPhone 5s/5c and not 7.0

iphone 5 had Sim thats an extra boot process... Test is not accurate.

The iPhone 5 seems to display "Searching" indicating that a sim is actually installed. Do you agree?

the why'd you click and read the article if you don't care? boot time shows post processing being done. faster boot time means faster components. nuff said.

I never turn my 5 off so why does this matter? Are trying to demonstrate processing speed? My 5 is fast enough and it will never have ios7 on it.

Is the brightness the same on all devices? Why the difference? 5c looks brighter.

It's the angle of the camera, and the lighting. It's just skewed.

The brightness is set to max on all three devices with auto-brightness set to off. The difference you are seeing is likely due to the background. We left the default wallpaper set for all three devices. Since the iPhone 5c is a white device, its default background is mainly white and thus brighter than the other two devices.
