The final messages of Sun Danyong, a Chinese iPhone factory worker who jumped out of his twelfth floor apartment after losing an iPhone prototype, have been posted online.
The New Yorker has translated the messages posted in the Chinese media.
Local newspapers have published SMS messages that Suns girlfriend says she received in the final hours before his death. The last message was received less than two hours before he died:
My dear, Im sorry, go back home tomorrow, something has happened to me, please dont tell my family, dont contact me, this is the first time that I have ever begged you, please agree to that! I am so sorry!
In records of what may be his last online chat, Sun tells old college friends that he never stole the iPhone and thinks maybe someone stole it without his noticing or possibly removed it from the box after he had sent it.
Sun also implies that the security chief forcefully confined him:
Even at a police station, the law says force must never be used, much less in a corporate office. I was just a suspect, my dear head of security, so what reason and right do you have to confine me and use force?
His final message:
Right now I am paying the interest on my student loan. I hope this will not affect the chances of younger people applying for loans. I am sorry for this. Bye, Gao Ge [a college friend], rest well. Thinking that I wont be bullied tomorrow, wont have to be the scapegoat, I feel much better.

What I meant by that is that I hope apple is putting in some real improvements in the 4G model like a 5 megapixel cam, another camera in the front for video conferencing, maybe a real GPS reciever, better speaker, better battery, etc instead of just throwing in a new processor, adding copy/paste, voice control, text message (software features they should have had long ago) into a phone that looks exactly the same, and then call it a new phone and the best iPhone yet.
Basically I hope the guy didnt kill himself because he lost a 4G prototype that would reveal to the world the Apple will include a petty feature like backgrounding or voip on 3g, or some other stupid improvement already available on jailbreak anyway. Im not saying I dont want those features, im just saying i hope they have something juicer planned for the 4G, at least for the sake of this guy lol

Um, first of all, the 3GS has a lot more than software updates... The better GPU with Open GL 2.0 being, in my opinion, the most noticeable, but the other hardware improvements are also very interesting and significant, just people don't see them as the phone "looks" the same and is called 3GS and not something new. 2nd, it will not be called 4G as 3G referees to the wireless network it can connect to, having a better newer phone won't make it 4G as there are no carries using a 4G network (as far as I know there are also no plans in the near future) so think of a more sensible name.
I'm not to worried about what was on the prototype anyway as they seem to change a lot, and from what I remembered before the 3GS came out, there were rumored prototypes which could do more than the 3GS, so it might only get hopes up while the final version might not include them. Just wait till next summer hopefully to know what we'll be getting. :)

actually there are plans for a 4g network. Sprint/Nextel has already been working on it and i believe already has started implementing it and verizon is also trying to catch up to finish their 4g network suppousebly to have it ready for the new apple tablet.

It was an online chat of him talking over the computer. For some reason they just decided to toss the picture of the chat onto an iphone.
