The first details about the upcoming iPhone OS 4.0 reportedly been leaked online by the BoyGeniusReport.
Here is what their 'trusty' source has told them:
● There will be multi-touch gestures OS-wide. ● A few new ways to run applications in the background multitasking. ● Many graphical and UI changes to make navigating through the OS easier and more efficient. ● The update will supposedly be available for only the iPhone 3G and 3GS, but will put them ahead in the smartphone market because it will make them more like full-fledged computers more than any other phone to date. Everyone is really excited. ● The last piece of information is the most vague, but apparently there will be some brand new syncing ability for the contacts and calendar applications.
The iPhone OS 4.0 firmware is expected to be announced at Apple's special event on January 27th.

Hope they will add something like sbs settings, to quickly toggle wifi, bluetooth, gps, etc. on/off. That's the only reason why I jailbreak

You have to wait for Geohot and the devteam before you upgrade the firmware on your iPhone. They have been great about designing ways to keep your unlock, or unlock new basebands that Apple releases.

You wont actually know until the release date of the update. Then you will know what has changed and what George & the Dev Team will have to update in their software to unlock/jailbreak the new OS.

I hope they change the interface, it needs an overhaul. I'm tired of the pages of apps, I want some diversity!!!

I've had my iPhone jailbroken since day 1, I'm not talking about themes. I want a whole new way besides the apps and page view. I know there is one or two different styles out there like the wheel, but I don't like that. I want more that just pages of apps.

Apple will most likely like to keep it the apple way. If they wanted to be an Microsoft, Blackberry, or Andriod they would.

Hope the Sync is FINALLY working with Snow Leopard Server... This would mean, 4.0 and the Server Updates. Like to see a LOT fixed and or Changed. Using Winterboard make it nice to look at. YOU can Push iCal via Snow Leopard server, but nothing Else so far, and it's not a True Sync..
