New App Tailors Coaching Strategies to Individuals

The Assessment and Development Group International (ADGI), has released Coach, a new app for iPhone and iPod touch users. The application draws from ADGI's extensive experience in behavioral assessment to help business coaches create specific coaching strategies and tactics based upon a comparative analysis of the traits and behavioral styles of the coach and the person being coached. Coach provides a unique fine-tuning layer of insight that can help any coach using any model or process build stronger, more productive coaching relationships.

Two ADGI proprietary tools, the OMS Questionnaire and the Interaction Style Checklist, power this app. The user completes the OMS Questionnaire as a first step (about 7 or 8 minutes), which generates two comprehensive reports describing the user's Interaction Style (communication and interpersonal behaviors) and the user's coaching style, including developmental needs. The user then completes the very brief IS Checklist on the person to be coached, creating a report on that person's behavioral style, a strategy and set of tactics for coaching that person, and Q & A's to add direction to the coaching interaction.

Users can enter as many coaching contacts as their mobile devices will hold. Contact data can be keyed in manually or pulled from the Contacts app on the phone. Once created, Contact coaching styles are available for review and can be emailed to produce hard copies of the reports. A comprehensive tutorial is also provided in the app, which explains how to use the app and the Interaction Style behavioral model for coaching interactions.

Coach offers users many valuable benefits to aid in their job performance and career success:

1. Coach offers the manager in-depth personal insights - and a dose of reality - to facilitate personal development and to help the manager leverage his or her talents in a smart way.

2. Equally importantly, Coach becomes a real time training program to help managers learn new behaviors and approaches and to modify their behaviors to improve the quality and effectiveness of their interactions with bosses, peers, and direct reports, and

3. Coaching interactions are more productive, more rewarding to both parties, more motivating, and more successful.
