Apple's billion dollar North Carolina data center is now visible from Google Earth following the company's iCloud announcement.

FORTUNE notes that "if you asked Google Earth or Google Maps to show you the intersection of U.S. Route 321 and Startown Road -- where the data center is located -- the current satellite imagery stopped a few yards short of the construction site. West of Startown Road, there was, as recently as two weeks ago, nothing but woods and farmland and a bit of driveway that ended abruptly in the middle of a field."

Somehow Apple had prevented Google from displaying updated satellite images for the area. This lead a local real estate agent to take to the air obtaining his own aerial footage which you can see here.

Yesterday, Apple announced its iCloud service would be unveiled at WWDC and all of a sudden imagery of the data center is available on Google Earth.

You can check it out here.
