Information on an early beta of Photoshop CS6 reveals a darker interface theme, new 3D capabilities, autosave, and more, according to AppleInsider.

The most noticeable change is the darker, Aperture-like user interface that replaces the current platinum theme. In current betas, Adobe is providing the ability to change back to old theme; however, its unclear if this will be possible in the final release. The theme also offers spruced-up pallet icons which aim to 'freshen up' the software's look and feel.

Another major update in CS6 is the assortment of enhancements to software's 3D capabilities. A new "3D Material Drop" tool has been added to the Paint Bucket, a "3D Material Eyedropper Tool" has been added to Photoshop's Eyedropper, and a new "3D Text" option is available for text input.

In addition to improved 3D tools, Photoshop CS6 also introduces a "Remix Tool" to the healing brushes palette and a new "Perspective Crop Tool."

The "File Handling" section adds a "Save in Background" option and a "Automatically save Recovery Information Every:" with a choice of time intervals.
