A leaked AppleCare document reveals that Apple is actively investigating Wi-Fi issues with the new iPad and has instructed support representatives to replace affected units.

In the United States, contact centers and retail stores should capture iPad (3rd generation) Wi-Fi only devices if they exhibit any issue related to Wi-Fi.

Symptoms can include, but are not limited to:
● Intermittent connectivity
● Slow Wi-Fi speeds
● Wi-Fi network not seen

Notes:
● Any capture performed should always include the iPad, AC adapter, and USB cable.
● During the EFFA period, Apple evaluates all forms of hardware failures - even those that would normally be classified as abuse.

9to5Mac notes that "captured" is the code word for the device to be immediately packed up and shipped to Apple's engineering centers for examination and investigation.

Recently, TabletPCReview confirmed user reports of Wi-Fi issues finding that the new iPad's signal dropped faster and further than any other Apple device.
