Apple has always been a relative secretive company, especially when it comes to their products. CEO Tim Cook, who replaced Steve Jobs after he resigned, has said in an interview at D10 that he plans to actually "double down on secrecy on products"

9:42 pm Tim: Social change.
9:42 pm Walt: Like what?
9:42 pm Tim: But there will be things we're a lot less secretive about.
9:42 pm Tim: Yes.
9:42 pm Walt: Really?
9:42 pm Tim: We're going to double down on secrecy on products.
9:42 pm Kara: I was hoping you'd be fooled by that.
9:42 pm Tim: Well...
9:42 pm Kara: I've heard you're a lot less secretive.

Cook went onto say that they plan on being much more transparent in their manufacturing process, having reports monthly instead of annually.

Although Tim is being quite dodgy on some questions, he did say that next week at WWDC, "We're [Apple] going to introduce some great stuff. I think you're gonna love it."
