Apple has begun asking iTunes Account holders to provide answers to three security questions and optionally set a rescue email address, reports iPhoneinCanada. This follows the widely publicized hacking of a journalist's account via a simple and easily duplicated phone call to Apple.
A pop up occurs within iTunes when you download an a paid or free app that urges you to improve the security of your Apple ID by choosing three security questions. After you enter your current password, you are taken to the security questions page:
Also, there is a space to add an optional rescue email address, to reset your info should your Apple ID email be compromised.
We haven't been presented with the form yet; however, it's clear this is an attempt by Apple to tighten its account security. The company recently instructed support representatives not to reset passwords until it could improve the procedure.
