Part providers won't see a bump in revenues from the new iPad mini and iMac until Q1 2013 due to mass production issues, reports DigiTimes.

Mass production of panels used in the iPad mini has reportedly suffered low yield rates, and backlight module providers have also had a shortage of supplies, which is affecting the amount of iPad minis that can be shipped in 2012, said the sources.

AUO was to provide 40% of the iPad mini panel shipments; however, is only producing 22%. This may cause Apple to fall short of its ten million units shipped goal for Q4 2012 by as much as four million units.

The site also says the new iMacs use panels from LGD. These panels require a new production process which has limited capacity.

Yields are expected to improve by Q1 2013.
