Apple's iTunes and Accessories Business Makes More Than Most Mobile Phone Vendors

Asymco analyst Horace Dediu examines Apple's iTunes and Accessories business noting that it's larger in terms of revenue than any mobile phone vendor except Samsung.

The size of these ancillaries are beginning to be substantial and Apple’s ecosystem may begin to be valued more than just as an incentive to buy the devices. Indeed, if seen in isolation, iTunes+Accessories combined is a bigger business in terms of revenues than any of the other phone vendors except Samsung

Dediu notes that iTunes has grown over 30% over the previous two years with revenue of $13.5 billion in 2012 and $10.2 billion in 2011. iTunes is now Apple's fourth largest business overtaking the iPod. It could even overtake the Mac to become the third largest business this year.
