Todoist today announced Todoist Karma, a gaming element that has been added to its task managers with the goal of increasing personal productivity

The basic premise of Todoist Karma is to provide striking and advanced visual insight into each user’s productivity. For example, if you add and complete tasks you'll get positive karma; if you postpone or have too many overdue tasks, you'll get negative karma. Built upon a non-trivial algorithm, Todoist Karma is divided into five levels ranging from “beginner” to “enlightened.” The more one progresses, the more difficult it becomes to earn further karma.

A linear Karma Progress graph shows a visualization of one’s productivity during the last 14 days, along with a count of total completed tasks. Todoist Karma will visualize your karmic progress across seven of the nine different platforms where Todoist is available ensuring that your karma will always be in sync and accessible no matter where you use the app.

Amir Salihefendic, the founder of Todoist adds that “gaming elements are highly effective, but the usage of them has been uninspiring and many times malicious. Our aim is to use gaming elements and feedback loops to improve people’s productivity in a fun way while helping them achieve more.”

You can signup to try it now at the link below. Todoist for iOS is available here.
