Twitter is set to release a new standalone Music app this weekend, reports AllThingsD.

The app suggests artists and tracks to users based on a number of personalized signals, including the Twitter accounts a user follows on the microblogging service. Users will be able to listen to clips of music from inside the app, using third-party services like iTunes and SoundCloud; they will also be able to watch music videos provided by Vevo, the music video service owned by Universal Music and Sony.

Last night a new page went live at music.twitter.com with just a sign-in button that leads to an authorization request for a "Trending Music Web" app.

The app is expected this weekend to coincide with the Coachella music festival. CNET recently detailed how it works, revealing that it's based on the company's acquisition of We Are Hunted.
