AT&T has announced it launched LTE in 17 new markets today, bringing their total market count to 278, while Verizon has nearly 500.

The carrier is on track to make June one of their most rapid LTE launch months. They have already announced nearly 40 new markets in just under two weeks. By the end of 2013, they expect to cover nearly 300 million people.
