Benchmarks for a new 15-inch MacBook Pro have surfaced in Geekbench following benchmarks for an unannounced 13-inch MacBook Pro that surfaced last month, reports MacRumors. The notebook uses Intel's new Haswell processors and have 16GB of RAM. It scored 12497 overall which is similar to last year's model. This is line with Apple's focus on increased battery life for recent MacBooks; rather than a focus on increasing performance.

The chip included in the benchmarked machine is a Core i7-4950HQ running at 2.4 GHz and offering Intel's new high-end Iris Pro 5200 integrated graphics. Intel's promotional materials for Iris previously showed graphics performance gains of 2-2.5x for this i7-4950Q with Iris 5200 compared to the i7-3840QM with HD Graphics 4000 found in the current stock high-end Retina MacBook Pro.

Apple typically includes a dedicated graphics chip with their 15-inch MacBook Pro; however, the site speculates that perhaps Apple will only use integrated graphics for some models to improve battery life even further. Currently the 15-inch MacBook Pro offers up to 7 hours of battery life.

Take a look at the benchmarks in the chart or link below...
