According to a report by NPD DisplaySearch, Samsung has supplied more 9.7" iPad display panels for the fourth-generation iPad in the past few months than any other Apple supplier including LG and Sharp.

Samsung was expected to fade away as a Supplier of Apple components but that does not seem to be happening.

Apple, in fact, has been boosting purchases of displays from Samsung since January, according to the market analyst. Apple got about 2.3 million units from Samsung in the first quarter. That figure jumped about 80 percent quarter-to-quarter to more than 4.1 million units in the second quarter, according to DisplaySearch.

Samsung will also begin supply 7.9" iPad mini display panels in the second half of 2013, Although its not clear whether the iPad mini will be retina or not. LGD and Japan Display will be supplying iPad mini panels as well, although Sharp and AU optronics will most likely not.
