Yahoo has surpassed Google in web traffic for the first time since May 2011, according to the latest ComScore report.

As can be seen in the chart below, Yahoo! Sites had 196,564,000 visitors in July, 2013 compared to 192,251,000 visitors for Google's sites.

Notably, ComScore says that Yahoo's numbers do not include its recent acquisition of Tumblr.

Tumblr is not currently included in the Yahoo! Sites roll-up. Seems there are other factors at play, and given how close Yahoo Sites and Google have been in recent months it can likely just be normal seasonal/month-to-month fluctuations.

Yahoo has stepped up its efforts of late with the acquisition of Tumblr, Rockmelt, Summly, and others. It's also revamped Flickr and redesigned many of its apps. It will be interesting to see if it is able to stay at the number one spot.
