iPhone 6 Rumored to Feature f/1.8 10MP Camera With Swappable Resin Lenses

A new report from electronics e-tailer JD claims that the iPhone 6 will feature a 10MP camera with a wide f/1.8 aperture and support for interchangeable resin lenses. Previous reports have indicated that the iPhone 6 would maintain an 8MP camera.

The interchangeable lenses are allegedly made by the Japanese JSR, and feature more nuanced light filtering via the transparent resin. Branded Arton, the lenses reportedly have excellent optical characteristics and durability.

"ARTON is superior in optical characteristics, dimension stability, and is a transparent resin (cyclic olefin resin) of a high heat resistance. ARTON is one of the high functional resins best suited for optical applications such as optical films, light guiding plates, optical lenses etc."

While it seems unlikely that Apple will actually add interchangeable lenses to the iPhone 6, the company has filed more than one patent detailing how this could be accomplished.
