Wendy's has been testing mobile payments over the past year and now says a majority of its 5800 locations and ready to accept payments.
"If they want to come in and give us business, we want to allow them to pay the way they want to pay," Craig Bahner, chief marketing officer for Wendy's, said in a phone interview.
The company saw promising trends in tests, including increased visits; however, they have yet to offer discounts or a loyalty program to mobile users.
Rather than holding your iPhone up to a scanner, you launch the app and tap to pull up a six digit number that you give the cashier. "That's a real benefit when you think about cars going through pickup windows," Bahner said.
