Apple is Testing an iOS 7.1.2 Update

Apple is working on an iOS 7.1.2 update and hits from devices running the new firmware have been appearing in web logs since last Friday, reports MacRumors.

Activity is still low, but that is typical for the early stages of update testing, particularly minor ones that may not require widespread internal or external testing. As a minor update, iOS 7.1.2 is likely to focus on bug fixes and other tweaks rather than major feature additions, and it likely will not even be put through a developer testing period before release.

Apple has already announced that at least two issues will be resolved in a future software update. The first is a problem which Andreas Kurtz, a security researcher, discovered. Contrary to Apple's claims email attachments are not being encrypted in iOS 7. The second is an issue that results in messages sent to a number no longer using iOS to be sent as an undeliverable iMessage instead of as a SMS.
