The launch of the rumored 12-inch Retina Display MacBook may be pushed back due to delays with Intel's Broadwell chips, reports Taiwan's Economic Daily News.

The new MacBook apparently won't ship until late 2014 or early 2015 as it is expected to use Intel's 14nm chips which have been delayed several times. Current reports suggest that the chips may not even ship until February 2015.

In June, supply-chain sources claimed that Apple's 12-inch MacBook Air would enter mass production in the third quarter of 2014.

The new notebook is said to feature an ultraslim design with a 12-inch Retina Display. It's also said to have a redesigned trackpad without a mechanical button and no fan assembly.

Delays to Intel's Broadwell chips may also push back processor bumps for the Retina Display MacBook Pro and the iMac, perhaps until mid-2015.
