iOS saw its total share of enterprise device activations drop five percentage points to 67%, while Android's share grew an additional five percentage points to 32% in Q2 2014, according to Good Technology's mobility index report. Windows Phone activations remained at a flat 1%.

Good Technology does not have insight into BlackBerry handset activations, so that data remains unknown. Nevertheless, without BlackBerry in the equation, iOS holds two thirds of the enterprise market, while Android holds a third. iOS Smartphone activations remained consistent, while iOS tablet (iPad) activations saw a slight decrease, quarter-over-quarter. Android smartphones saw the largest increase in enterprise device activations quarter-over-quarter, coming in at 30 percent.

Highlights:
● The total number of enterprise app activations continued to see significant double digit growth, increasing 20 percent quarter over quarter.
● The gap seen in previous quarters in the number of tablet app activations versus smartphone activations significantly closed in Q2, coming in at 58 percent and 42 percent respectively.
● Government and public sector recorded an increase of five percentage points in total iPad activations.

Good Technology uses data based from more than 5,000 customers worldwide.

Apple just recently inked a deal with IBM to bring enterprise services to iPhone and iPad with a new class of business apps.
