Natalie Portman has reportedly passed on taking the female lead in the upcoming Steve Jobs movie from Universal, reports Variety. Portman had apparently been in discussions to join 'Jobs' before the Thanksgiving break.

Production is expected to start in the spring and while sources don’t have an exact reason why Portman passed, other than news probably breaking before the actress had made a decision on the film, sources say “Jobs” is still on track to make its production date and actresses are already meeting for the part.

Currently, the movie is said to star Michael Fassbender as Steve Jobs and Seth Rogen as Steve Wozniak. Danny Boyle is the director, Aaron wrote the script, and Scott Rudin, Mark Gordon and Guymon Casady are said to be producing.

Portman is the third high profile actor that has apparently decided not to participate in the film. Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale were both pursued for the Steve Jobs role; however, they decided not to take on the role.

Universal picked up the film after Sony Pictures let it go. Please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates.
