Apple to Release New iMacs With Improved Color Saturation?

Apple will soon debut new iMac models that feature a "much better display", according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The upgrade is also expected to bring more powerful Intel processors.

Specifically, Kuo indicated that the new iMacs will use a LED phosphor material known as KSF, which is said to boost color saturations on the display.

iMac sales are expected to reach one million units this quarter, which would be 100% sequential growth from the June quarter. Kuo also says that Apple could launch new promotion programs to boost sales.

G Tech Optoelectrics is said to make the cover glass for the desktops and AzureWave is said to be supplying the 802.11ac Wi-Fi cards.

Apple released a 5K Retina iMac last October, but much of the iMac lineup hasn't been updated since September 2013. It's unclear if Apple plans to update the iMac alongside its other September 9th announcements but there isn't much time left in the quarter.
