Apple has announced that developers can register to get an Apple TV Developer Kit before the device's public release but there is limited availability.

We want to give Apple developers the chance to build and test their apps on the new Apple TV before it becomes publicly available to customers later this fall. Register by September 11, 12:00 p.m. PDT for an opportunity to order an Apple TV Developer Kit. Availability and supplies are limited.

The Apple TV Developer Kit includes the new Apple TV, Apple TV Remote, Power cord, Lightning to USB Cable, USB-A to USB-C Cable, and documentation.

Registration
Sign in with your Apple Developer account and submit your information to register for an Apple TV Developer Kit. Due to limited availability, priority in the selection process will be given to teams with apps on the App Store. We’ll let you know your status by email starting September 14.

If selected, you’ll be charged $1.00 USD or in local currency during the checkout process to verify your billing and shipping address.

Eligibility
To register for an Apple TV Developer Kit, you must be a member of the Apple Developer Program or Apple Developer Enterprise Program as of September 9, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. PDT and located in one of the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States
