Neighbor Complains About Late Night Motor Noises Coming From Top Secret Apple Lab

A Sunnyvale resident who leaves near Apple's top secret automotive testing facility has complained to the city about late night 'motor noises' emanating from the property, reports AppleInsider.

"(Do) there have to (be) motor noises at 11:00 p.m. at night like last night?" the resident wrote to the city of Sunnyvale. "Even with the windows closed I could still hear it."

Apple occupies seven buildings, totaling nearly 300,000 square feet, of a large office complex in the city. Building number 175 is home to SixtyEight Research, believed to be a shell corporation used to disguise Apple's electric car efforts. Project Titan is allegedly based out of a building known as "SG5".

The company has reportedly built a "auto work area" and "repair garage" at the location just minutes away from its headquarters, so it's unclear if the noise complaint is regards to construction work or vehicle testing.

While Apple has yet to confirm it is working on a vehicle, Tesla CEO Elon Musk says it's an open secret and the WSJ claims that Apple has upgraded its electric car to a 'committed project' giving it a target ship date of 2019.

Notably, the property has received permits to build a 10ft tall security fence around the buildings occupied by Apple for both "physical security" and "visual privacy" so getting a look inside is not likely.
