Dell has unveiled a new 27-inch Ultrathin monitor (S2718D) at CES 2017 which may be the thinnest monitor on the market.

The 27-inch Quad HD monitor has a resolution of 2560x1440 and supports HDR, albeit a different HDR than televisions. It supports higher contrast and color range than most monitors covering up to 99% of the SRGB gamut. The screen touts a 178-degree viewing angle and is support by a narrow bezel.

To obtain such a thin display, Dell moved most of the monitor's hardware down to the base where you'll find a USB-C connection with power support, an HDMI 2.0 port, and an audio line out.

The Dell 27 Ultrathin Monitor Offers:
● Inspired, state-of-the-art design with the world’s overall thinnest profile, articulated hinge design, and fluid tilt and swivel, offering an unhampered view from nearly any angle
● Superb viewing with groundbreaking technology, exceptionally rich colors with high contrast, and depth and range through Dell’s HDR (high dynamic range) feature that has been designed with the PC user in mind
● Built-in USB Type-C connectivity, ComfortView and a flicker-free screen
● Simple, intelligent design with connectivity hub located at the rear of stand base, eliminating unsightly cables on the desk

The Dell 27 Ultrathin Monitor will be available in the United States on March 23, 2017 for $699.99. Worldwide availability will follow soon after.
