The ecobee3 lite smart thermostat with Apple HomeKit support is now compatible with room sensors.

With this free upgrade, new and existing ecobee3 lite owners can choose to add room sensors to their home at any time, without upgrading or replacing their thermostat.

“This is a great example of our innovation at work and our continued promise to make the lives of our customers simpler and better,” said Stuart Lombard, Founder, President and CEO of ecobee. “We listened when our customers asked for room sensor capability for ecobee3 lite, and we responded by making this high value product compatible with our signature technology.”

The addition of room sensor capability helps customers manage hot and cold spots in their home by placing sensors in the rooms that they care about most.

“ecobee’s primary goal is to help make life at home as peaceful as possible. As this looks different for each home and changes over time, we realized it is important to develop products that can grow and change with our customers as their needs do,” explained Casey McKinnon Vice President of product at ecobee. “With the introduction of room sensor capability, customers have the choice to add the technology to their ecobee3 lite unit if and when they want, to suit their lifestyle needs.”

Pricing Availability
Starting on April 18, ecobee3 lite is available in the U.S ($169) and Canada ($219) at ecobee.com, Amazon.com and Amazon.ca. It will be available in stores at Home Depot, Best Buy and Lowes (US) starting on May 15. Room sensors can be purchased in a package of two for $79 ($89 CAD).
