Apple is ending its annual Music Festival in the U.K. after hosting the event for ten years. The company confirmed the news to Music Business Worldwide.
Apple has confirmed to MBW that it will no longer be hosting the annual Apple Music Festival at London’s Roundhouse. The UK event officially became the Apple Music Festival in 2015 as part of a rebranding away from its original name of the iTunes Festival.
The first show was held in 2007 at the Institute of Contemporary Arts. In 2008 it moved to KOKO and then in 2009 it was held at the Roundhouse where it stayed until now. Free tickets were given to Apple Music, iTunes and DICE users who live in the United Kingdom through localized prize draws. Performances were streamed live and available to view afterwards on the Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, and other devices.
Last year's Apple Music Festival was held over 10 days and featured artists such as Elton John, Alicia Keys, OneRepublic, Calvin Harris, Britney Spears, and others.
