Wistron has denied a report that Apple suspended its production at a Chinese plant after discovering the use of unauthorized components in its devices.
Digitimes says Wistron filed a statement with the Taiwan Stock Exchange on March 15 saying that the company will not comment on matters concerning specific clients and there was not a "two-week production suspension as reported and operations remain completely normal."
The statement comes following a Commercial Times report that said Apple ordered Wistron to stop production of the iPhone 8 Plus at a plant in Kunshan, China for two weeks. Apple was apparently investigating the use of water-proof components from a supplier which it hadn't certified.
The report claimed Wistron had penalized several mid and high-level executives in hope of regaining Apple's trust. The company is only responsible for a small percentage of iPhone 8 Plus assembly. Foxconn produces up to 80% of iPhone 8 Plus units.
