iOS 12 has introduced a useful new gesture to retry Face ID.
Occasionally Face ID may fail to unlock your device. In iOS 11, you can retry Face ID by lowering and raising your phone or putting it to sleep and waking it.
Now, in iOS 12, a simple swipe up will retry Face ID.
