Plex Introduces Grid Channel Guide

Plex has introduced a grid channel guide for users who prefer the traditional TV style schedule when watching Live TV.

While we think that searching and our Discover view (see below) are often a faster way to access DVR-related content for users, many users are familiar with a traditional “TV grid” style schedule and may wish to use that. Displayed in a scrollable timeline format, the Channels view of the Guide gives you an overview of what’s on every channel you receive. From here, you can see program details, schedule a recording, filter the timeline view to only show a certain day, and also scroll forward and backward in time.

You can click on any program in the guide to expand its details and watch or record the program. The schedule can be filtered by day of the week and time of the day or you can view only HD channels.

The Channels/Grid view is currently only available in the web app but Plex is working to bring it to additional devices in the future. Additionally, you'll need a Plex Pass to get access to the channel guide, Live TV, and DVR.

You can download Plex from the App Store for free.
