Apple's rumored 18W charger may only be available with the purchase of a new iPhone at first, according to a report from Macotakara. The site has heard from a supplier who believes that initially Apple will not be able to produce enough units to sell the charger on its own.

The supplier said about 18W USB-C adapter compliant to USB Power Delivery 3.0 standard which is said to be packed with next iPhone that the products for selling single piece may not fill the demand for a while since the factory operate at full capacity only to make the products for packing into the body.

The charger is said to be manufactured by Flextronics, Delta Electronics, Lite-On Technology and Artesyn.

Third party manufacturers will purportedly gain MFi access to using an improved C48B Lightning chip in November or December of 2018. They are expected to release cables with the new chip are expected in 2019.
