Minor issues could delay the availability of the Apple Tablet until June, according to analyst Shaw Wu with Kaufman Bros.

AppleInsider reports that in a new note to investors, Wu said supply check checks indicate the launch pattern for the tablet could be similar to that of the iPhone which was announced in January and shipped six months later. Wu believes the June launch could be due to "minor issues" with more work needed on battery life and durability.

Wu indicated that despite the issues, the device will be unveiled at the January 27th event and describes it as being like a "super" iPod touch.

"This tablet product has been described to us as a hybrid between an iPhone/ipod touch and a mac but in terms of software and components, it appears closer to the former, meaning it is most likely ARM based," he wrote. "From our understanding, it is not intended to replace a Mac but be somewhat of a 'super' iPod touch where video, gaming, Web browsing, e-books and the ability to run multiple apps would be enhanced with the much larger screen."

A June launch contradicts with the WSJ's report of a March ship date; however, the WSJ did note that the shipping time had not been finalized. Wu expects the device to cost around $999.
