eufy's support for the feature was first unveiled on stage during Apple's WWDC 2019 Keynote but did not arrive with the eufyCam 2 when it was released last fall. The update, which is rolling out automatically to eufyCam 2 owners without any prompts, brings the camera up to firmware version 2.5.9 (Subsystem version 1.0.64.20200227). Users can also utilize the firmware update option in the eufy Security app to manually check availability.
Using the Apple Home app, users will be able to see live video of their security cameras as well as view 10-days of recent activity. Customers that have 200 GB iCloud plan users can add one camera at no extra cost; those with a 2 TB plan can add up to five cameras. EufyCam 2 will be able to detect whether it sees a person, vehicle or an animal before securely sending footage to iCloud. This ensures that you're only notified about important activity.
