Apple has announced its service fees for the new HomePod mini.
If you need to repair your HomePod mini and it's not covered by the one year warranty, Apple will charge you $79. That just $20 less than the full retail price of the $99 smart speaker. However, if you've purchased AppleCare+ for the HomePod mini (+$15), accidentally damage is subject to a $15 repair fee.
AppleCare+ for HomePod extends your coverage to two years from your AppleCare+ purchase date and adds up to two incidents of accidental damage protection every 12 months, each subject to a $15 service fee plus applicable tax
The service fee for the HomePod mini is better value than that of the HomePod's. Apple charges a $279 repair fee for HomePod despite the device often selling for around $210 or even less.
