Apple Stores Can Reconfigure Studio Display With Different Stand / Mount After Purchase

Apple Stores will be able to reconfigure the Studio Display with a different stand or mount after purchase, according to internal documentation obtained by MacRumors.

When purchasing a 27-inch Studio Display, users are presented with a choice of between Apple's tilt-adjustable stand, tilt- and height-adjustable stand, and VESA mount adapter. The fine print warns "Each stand or mount adapter is built in. They are not interchangeable, so it’s important to consider your workspace needs at the time of purchase."

While this is disappointing, it appears that users will be able to get the display reconfigured to a different stand via an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

If a customer bought a Studio Display with the standard tilt-adjustable stand and later decides they want to use a VESA mount adapter, they can book a service appointment with an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider and have one installed, according to internal documentation obtained by MacRumors.

Pricing is expected to vary based on your region, the type of stand or mount being installed, and the labor time. Upgrade kits are only being offered to certified technicians and are not available through the Apple online store.
