Apple is planning to ship next generation AirPods in the last quarter of 2024 or the first quarter of 2025, according to TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

In a series of tweets today, Kuo reveals that Hon Teng, a Foxconn subsidiary may take over production of the popular earbuds.

My latest survey indicates that Hon Teng (FIT) - a Hon Hai/Foxconn Group subsidiary - may be set to take over from Goertek as the new supplier for AirPods assembly. This move will bring significant benefits for Hon Teng.

Kuo believes that in 2H24 or 1H25, Apple will launch next generation AirPods, new over-ear AirPods Max headphones, and a lower priced AirPods model.

The next-generation AirPods will likely begin mass shipments in 2H24 or 1H25, including more affordable AirPods (with Apple targeting a price of $99) and new AirPods Max, which will be assembled by Luxshare ICT and Hon Teng.

Finally, Kuo predicts that AirPods assembly and Hon Hai's EV business/MIH Consortium will be a significant growth driver for Hon Teng over the next few years.
