Microsoft President of Xbox Sarah Bond has issued a statement on Apple's plan to comply with the EU's Digital Markets Act.

In a post on X today, Bond describe the plan as 'a step in the wrong direction'.

We believe constructive conversations drive change and progress towards open platforms and greater competition. Apple's new policy is a step in the wrong direction. We hope they listen to feedback on their proposed plan and work towards a more inclusive future for all.

Microsoft is just the latest company to criticize Apple's proposed changes.

The Coalition for App Fairness has issued a statement condemning Apple's plan to comply with the EU's Digital Markets App as a 'shameless insult'. Epic described the plan as a devious new instance of Malicious Compliance designed to thwart Europe's new Digital Markets Act law. Spotify called it 'a complete and total farce'.

Notably, alongside changes that allow third party app stores, Apple has also been forced to allow apps with the capability to stream multiple games. This should allow apps like Microsoft's Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia's GeForce Now to launch on iOS.
