Apple has altered wording on its website that referred to its new Maps application as 'the most beautiful, powerful mapping service ever', notes iDaily.de.

The description of Maps has been altered from:

Designed by Apple from the ground up, Maps gives you turn-by-turn spoken directions, interactive 3D views, and the stunning Flyover feature. All of which may just make this app the most beautiful, powerful mapping service ever.

to...

Designed by Apple from the ground up, Maps gives you turn-by-turn spoken directions, interactive 3D views, and the stunning Flyover feature. All in a beautiful vector-based interface that scales and zooms with ease.

This follows harsh criticism from the press and users over a service that was launched before it was ready and is far behind Google Maps which iPhone users had become accustomed to. Yesterday, Apple CEO Tim Cook apologized for the service's shortcomings.

All of which may just make this step the most beautiful, powerful failing service ever.

Who the hell uses the Maps app anyway? It's the most pointless app ever, regardless of Apple or Google version.

Plenty of people. Including myself. Not only to find addresses for work, but to find near by restaurants or other points of interest.

Are you incarcerated? Maps is the I app I use most, after voice, text, and internet/fb. Maybe you don't get out much.

I still think is way better than google maps since now it has the turn by turn option. What apple Maps lack of is the searching of streets. Yes I am at 6.0 and ready jailbroken with my 4s. Woopidiwooo. Tethered though.

Hey, give it a break. The app IS awesome just that Apple is trying to make its own map app from the scratch there. Give it some time -sheesh people! The Wright Brothers didn't invent today's plane with fancy design and all back in the 1907 in one go. It takes time for things to develop into what they want it to be. Gosh! Hang in there Cook. I'm sure the map app will over take Google's one day. :)
