BlackBerry has issued a statement denying that BBM for iOS and Android will launch on June 27th. The June 27th date was announced on the T-Mobile U.K. Twitter account.

Great news - BlackBerry Messenger will be available to download on iOS and Android from June 27th! :) #BBM pic.twitter.com/PbG1uknM3h

Unfortunately, BlackBerry has told the Financial Post that this will not be the date.

BlackBerry officials told the Financial Post that BBM will not be launching on new platforms on June 27, and that the official launch date of BBM on iOS and Android has yet to be determined.

It seems unlikely that T-Mobile would intentionally announce an incorrect date. Perhaps, BlackBerry doesn't want the date publicized in case it's not ready to launch by then. The company has officially confirmed that BBM is coming to iOS and Android this summer.

T-Mobile UK has since deleted the tweet.
