Amazon has released another commercial that mocks the iPad's display performance under sunlight when compared to the Kindle Paperwhite. The Paperwhite has an 16-level grayscale e-ink display.
In the ad, a user holds up both devices side by side. The iPad's screen is almost completely unreadable and it's annotated with the message. "(Yes, the iPad is on.)" The user holding the devices says, "The iPad is heavier. It's really hard to see. Kindle I can see very clearly."
Amazon doesn't say what brightness level the iPad is set at; however, it seems as though it may have been turned all the way down for effect.
Although, this may be unfair comparison between different devices, Amazon's Kindle Fire HDX display was recently found to be superior to the iPad Air's.
Take a look at the ad below...

It's Nokia all over again like kindle, both commercials compared one useless thing it has and thinks it's better to buy it and not iPad, when will competitors realize one thing doesn't make an entire product better and try to beat iPad this way?

If you look at the smallprint when they say the Kindle has 8 weeks of battery life, it says "Based on half an hour daily usage, WiFi/3G connectivity turned off and brightness settings on 10".
Lol Kindle = Krap

I do most of my reading under a shade. Based on the settings used for tablets in the ad, the iPad will be great and the kindle will blind me.

Yeah, sure, it would blind you. Obviously, you never saw e-ink display in your life.
I have both iPad and Kindle. For the purpose of reading, and particularly outside reading (e.g. at the beach) e-ink display is light years ahead of LCD.

People buying an e reader are going with Kindle ppl buying a tablet with iPad or nexus 7. Simple as that. That's like saying my corvette is the same as your bike when all u need to do go down the block. Both get you there but do you really need the corvette to do it it's a very short distance .

Have a stack of new iPad boxes and Kindle boxes on the coffee table. After their time in front of the camera tell them "TY for your comments, please take your choice of box as our payment to you" see which pile gets finished first. I think we know the answer to that. lol
