Apple CEO Tim Cook promised China Mobile customers 'great things' after being asked if the company was developing an iPhone with a larger display, reports Bloomberg.
Cook was at China Mobile's headquarters store for the launch of iPhone sales at the carrier. He handed out autographed iPhones with Chairman Xi Guohua and was questioned about bigger screens and flexible displays.
“We never talk about future things,” Cook said. “We have great things we are working on but we want to keep them secret. That way you will be so much happier when you see it.”
It's estimated that China Mobile could sell as many as 10 million iPhone units this year. Pre-orders for the device reached about 1 million units.
DisplaySearch recently suggested that the iPhone 6 could come in a 4.7-inch 1600x900 version and a 5.5-inch 1920x1080 version. Notably, Reuters has reported that Apple is looking at introducing a 4.7-inch and 5.7-inch iPhone.
What size do you think would be best for the iPhone 6?

The most good think in the iPhone is the you can use it by one hand therefore I strongly recommend to keep the iPhone size as is and to launch a bigger screen if need to those who need bigger screen size

2014 will be an exciting year, but NOT for screen size . I'm not one of those people that want an IMAX screen on my phone (I leave that to the iPad/iMac/Mac Air/TV)..... It's quite embarrassing to have your phone ring in a meeting and having to pull out something the size of a Sony WalkMan- seems to me like a step back in time .....so a bigger screen is not the "next best thing" however it is an interesting prospect, as I know that Apple will take a big screen and make it as beautiful and convenient as the existing 5S.

I agree! Why the hell would anyone want a bigger screen than the iPhone 5? It's the perfect size!

Whichever size gives us the highest ppi imaginable so we can be retina gods again

We already are because are the only retina users.

The iPhone has been behind in ppi for a bit....
iPhone 4,4s,5c,5s = 326 ppi
Samsung Note 3 = 388 ppi
Samsung Galaxy s4 = 441 ppi
Lumia 1020 = 334 ppi
Lumia 920, 925, & 928 = 332 ppi
HTC One = 468 ppi
The whole Retina thing is just marketing talk for Apple. Everyone has leaped on by.

Still, what is better for other display if we have enough to sharpen the display?

U won't notice a huge difference between a 300 and 500 ppi. It all depends on the accuracy of the colors and angles that determines the quality of the screen.

See, Tony doesn't even understand this.

See that what people don't understand. Like john said. The human eye can't really tell the difference between 300-500 ppi. Everyone thinks because the number is bigger it's better. It's total BS. same with megapixels on cameras.

Sorry what T Hui said.

Also in a camera, people have to understand that Megapixels don't matter if u have a small lens. A small lens and sensor size won't make pictures better no matter what the megapixels is compared to cameras with bigger lens and sensor size. That is why a 41 MP camera on a Nokia phone is just slightly better than a 8MP on the IPhone 5S. MP only means the total number of dots on the screen.

So if we have a 1000mp camera and compared it to a 2000 mp camera, there is a difference if we don't care how big a sensor which takes in light and the picture will be sharp as Fck but dark as Fck. Explain that.

K, u are getting into extreme cases. I meant if a camera has 16 MPs and the IPhone only has 8MPs, but the 16MP camera has a smaller sensor and lens, then normally the 8MP camera will take better quality photos. Color accuracy of the screen also plays a big part of it as well as the quality of the angle shots, zoom, and quality of image stabilization.

Love the name dude. Notice Ismael Santos struck again in the comments with his gibberish. I'm surprised he didn't ask anyone to fax him.
